1. He’s a good communicator. He reminded me of a grandfather telling family tales to his grandchildren, who happened to be several thousand journalists from around the world.
2. The Italian language is going to become more popular. Because Pope Francis varied between script and off-the-cuff remarks, those who didn’t know Italian didn’t pick up on some of the anecdotes until later.
3. He didn’t have a name picked out! Bergoglio, who finished 2nd in the last papal election, didn’t have a Pope name already picked out?
4. He cares about environmental degradation. Many conservative evangelicals and Catholics could care less about environmental stewardship. I appreciated his remark at 2:40.
